Scarlett was on her way home when she noticed a dog lying in the middle of the street. She immediately pulled her car over and approached the pup who didn’t seem to move.
Scarlett talked to the pup in a calm voice and was nervous when the dog didn’t respond. Eventually, Scarlett gave Sophie, the pup a small nudge which woke the puppy up.
Scarlett was relieved to know that Sophie was alive. She then carried the pup to her car then took her to the nearest vet clinic.
At the clinic, the vet found out that Sophie was deaf and blind. Because of her disabilities, Sophie had trouble walking, navigating her surroundings, and even eating.
Scarlett had to hand feed Sophie because she was too weak. Despite Sophie’s troubled past and disabilities, Scarlett had high hopes that she would recover.
Journey to forever home
Scarlett offered to take Sophie home, foster her, and get her ready for her forever home. It was evident that Sophie was nervous, so she and her foster mom snuggled up on the couch on her first day in her new home.
It took a few days before Sophie began to get comfortable in a new environment. She loved laying in the backyard underneath the sun.
After two whole weeks, Scarlett noticed that Sophie was acting more playful so she decided to let Sophie play with other dogs. Thanks to good care, medication, and lots of love, Sophie began to come out of her shell.
Sophie loved playing with her foster mom on the beach. Although Sophie still couldn’t see completely, she gained control of her other senses like smell which helped her navigate her surroundings better.
Scarlett was glad she stopped to save Sophie and see that dog she became. She knew that soon, Sophie would find her forever home and a life she deserved.
