Moving to a different home can be tough for very social dogs. They have to adjust and find new friends to play with. That’s why owners should always find ways to introduce their dog to other dogs after a big move.
Ginger is a very social pit bull who has lots of friends. She had a park she frequently visited where she could play with all kinds of dogs. A lot of people had complimented her for her ability to make friends. Unfortunately, her social life had to reset because her owner, Kassidi, had to move.
Kassidi met her new neighbor, who happened to have a dog too. However, that dog didn’t have the best reputation. She is an older pit bull named Chloe, and she doesn’t like socializing with other dogs. In fact, when Chloe and Ginger met, the older dog tried to be intimidating.
Kassidi’s neighbor thought the two dogs would never get along. Fortunately, Kassidi was pretty insistent because Ginger needed a friend. She was lonely and couldn’t stand being in the house all day. The two neighbors tried getting two dogs to befriend each other once more.
Chloe and Ginger met again at a backyard, but this time neither of them wore a leash. They both felt more at ease because of it, which eventually led to their bonding. From that point forward, their friendship was smooth sailing.
Ginger became Chloe’s first and only dog friend. They’re always eager to see each other. It got to a point where the two dogs would alternate between waiting in front of each other’s home. Moreover, they both became more active and physically healthier because of their friendship.
Chloe was an older dog, yet she moved and acted like a younger one because of Ginger. Similarly, Ginger’s life also changed because of Chloe. She no longer hated her new environment because she had something to look forward to every day.
