This Injured Chihuahua Found All By Himself In His Old Home Is Ready To Find His New Family

Hope For Paws, a charitable rescue organization in LA, encounters different situations when saving animals in need. Most of the dogs they rescue were either born homeless or abandoned on purpose, but not all have the same story. Clifford the Chihuahua, for instance, is living proof that every stray dog has its unique background.

When the rescue group learned about Clifford, rescue partners Alex Babcock and Katie McKittrick wasted no time. They quickly responded to save the injured dog.

Good Samaritan Rocie Hernandez was the one who reached out to Hope For Paws. She let the rescuer know that the Chihuahua belonged to her neighbor, who went away for cancer treatment a couple of months ago. Sadly, the dog’s owner passed away and the poor dog has been all alone ever since.

Rocie looked out for the dog and fed it for weeks. However, she noticed that it limped and its condition worsened as time passed. She knew that she could only do so much for the dog and decided it was best to call for help.

Katie and Alex met with Rocie at the dog’s location. Rocie showed the rescuers where she usually fed the dog. The rescuers then devised a plan to safely but quickly secure the pooch.

Katie crawled under the house to gently flush the Chihuahua out. Meanwhile, Alex and Rocie enclosed the dog’s exit with portable fencing and waited for it to appear. Once it showed up, Alex expertly caught it with a net.

The rescuers decided to name the dog Clifford. Once they were certain Clifford was relaxed enough for travel, they immediately drove him to the vet for urgent medical attention. They knew he needed to see the doctor right away or the limp on his front paw would only get worse.

The doctors determined that, fortunately, Clifford didn’t have any broken bones. They, however, discovered that he stepped on his improperly placed collar and it embedded on his armpit, causing an infected wound. They expertly took care of him and helped him get back to full health.

The Little Red Dog, a charitable foundation, took in Clifford after he left the clinic. They helped him fully recover, and today, he is back to being a healthy and happy dog. After losing his previous owner, Clifford now looks forward to meeting his new forever family.
