Even in the present time, a lot of dogs are still being abandoned in horrible places. One of the worst places where they get left behind is a dumpster. A lot of animal rescuers can confirm that they have found numerous puppies in large trash containers.
Asami was one of the puppies unfortunate enough to spend several days in a dumpster. Fortunately, someone saw her, and she got rescued before it was too late. She got fostered by a woman named Kendra shortly after getting saved.
Asami couldn’t hide her enthusiasm when she was finally under someone’s care. When she arrived at Kendra’s home, she couldn’t stop following the foster parent everywhere. This behavior was an obvious sign that Asami didn’t want to be left alone.
When Asami first received a bath, she was confused. Kendra reassured Asami that there was nothing to fear. Kendra felt satisfied seeing Asami slowly accept the process of getting bathed. The foster parent even recorded the experience on video to save as a memento.
Since Asami couldn’t function when Alone, Kendra had to accompany her even when going to the bathroom. Eventually, Asami got better over time in handling her separation anxiety. Still, Kendra doesn’t mind always being within reach of the dog if that’s what it takes to make Asami feel safe.
One day, Kendra had to make a tough decision as a foster parent. She either had to adopt Asami or send the dog to another home. Since Kendra always wanted a dog, she went with the first option. Doing so meant that Kendra would unlikely be able to foster again, but for her, the tradeoff was worth it.
Asami brought much joy to Kendra’s life, so it’s not surprising that she decided to adopt the dog. Many foster parents end up doing the same if they meet a dog that connects well with them. In cases like this, everybody involved wins.
