Four dogs from San Antonio, Texas would have been living miserably as strays if not for one concerned lady. The good Samaritan lived near the end of a road that leads to a wooded area. There have surely been many times when people would go there and abandon their pets.
She has seen this happen so many times, and she was tired of these heartless dog owners. So one day, when she saw a strange car parked near her house, she got her phone and started capturing the unfolding events.
Four dogs
The dog owner was parked at the edge of the road and was removing the collar of four dogs. The concerned citizen already knew that she was about to illegally dump her animals. She started recording and told the dog owner to just bring her dogs to Animal Care Services.
She further stated that surrendering the creatures to the local shelter was free. But if she decides to abandon them, she would get persecuted and fined around 500 dollars per dog.
The dog owner was startled at first. She tried to cover up her bad deed by asking where the shelter was located. But then, once all the dogs were free from their collars, she got in her car and drove off. Her rear passenger even flipped off the concerned citizen.
Gone viral
The kind woman called the animal shelter and reported what just happened. They sent rescuers to the area to retrieve the dogs. Sadly, they could only find three of them. The video went online, and it became viral right away.
With the pressure mounting, the dog owner surrendered herself. She even went to the area where she abandoned the dog and was able to find the last one.
An investigation is being done, and the dog owner can face charges. As for the four dogs, two of them have been adopted already. The other two are living with foster parents.
