Angela Marie, the founder and driving force behind the non-profit animal rescue organization Angela’s Ark, wasted no time when she learned that a dog named Griff needed her assistance. She swiftly gathered her team and rushed to the animal shelter where the dog was located. Within an hour, she and her colleagues were able to rescue him.
Griff was rescued together with 20 other dogs from a hoarder. The dog was ill, bald, and withdrawn. He had sadly spent his whole life in a cage and was terrified when his environment abruptly changed.
Griff immediately went home with his rescuer and foster mother, Angela. He disliked her and had no desire to interact with her in any way. Despite her attempts to befriend him, he rejected her.
Angela said that the first few days following the dog’s rescue were quite stressful. She was willing and able to care for Griff, but he refused to accept her help. He disregarded her, but she maintained her composure and waited until he calmed down. The dog required specialized care, which his foster mother ensured he received.
The moment he began to feel better, he began to explore his foster home. He searched every part of the house before claiming a basket he discovered in the main room as his hiding place.
Griff accumulated a series of significant accomplishments. He eventually gained the courage to leave his spot, ate directly from his foster mother’s hand, mastered the stairs, and enjoyed going on walks. He also enjoyed soaking up the sun’s warmth while lying on the grass.
As Griff’s physical condition improved, his emotional wounds healed as well. He became so fond of Angela after learning to trust her. He believed that she gave him a chance at a better life, and he couldn’t thank her enough for what she did.
The dog has not yet fully recovered, but he is on the mend. The wonderful news is that he has been adopted by a loving family.
Griffin is finally home.
