Mowgly is an adventurous yellow labrador retriever that went camping in Boulder County, Colorado with his family. The adorable dog must have been really eager to explore the wilderness, as he quickly found himself far from their tent. Soon, he was unable to find his way back.
Together with their companions, the dog’s owners began searching the expansive area for Mowgly. They had no idea where the dog had gone, and there was a vast area to search. It took three days before anyone discovered the dog.
Mowgly was stranded on a ledge on a steep cliff face. 20 feet below him was a flowing creek with a high current, which made the situation even worse. The dog must have fallen into the stream, and he was able to climb onto the ledge. It was the only dry place he could go, and he likely remained there for the duration of his disappearance.
The dog’s owners immediately contacted for assistance. Three rescue teams from various departments arrived shortly. The rescuers evaluated the situation and devised an excellent way to save the dog. It needed collaboration among the three teams.
When the creek’s water calmed, many rescuers fearlessly crossed to the opposite bank. They were equipped with ropes. They scaled the cliff to Mowgly’s location and rigged a rope and harness system. This will be used to carry the dog across the waters.
Once they reached land safely, they returned the dog to his family. They were overjoyed to see him return, and that he was uninjured.
The rescuers reported that Mowgly remained quite calm during the whole rescue operation. He must have known that the humans had come to his rescue. They said that the dog was very lucky because his owners loved him so much and never gave up hope of finding him.
