Senior dogs have the lowest chances of being adopted. When elderly dogs are impounded by animal control and held in a shelter, they are frequently the first to be euthanized. This is usually done because they have the lowest likelihood of being adopted.
Emma, a senior dog, was abandoned by her owner and ultimately taken by animal control. The dog found herself in an animal shelter where she was slated for euthanasia due to her advanced age. Emma was already 14 years old, which means she was already living her final years.
The dog spent the majority of her life alone. Her owners left her outside to sleep on the ground beneath the porch, and she never had toys or a bed. Emma never received treats from her owner, nor did she enjoy their companionship. She was set to be euthanized without ever knowing what it was like to be loved and cared for by a genuine family.
The charity Animals R Family Rescue was able to save Emma from the kill shelter. Nonetheless, she needed to be transported from the facility to her foster home in New York.
At this point, Flying Fur Animal Rescue intervened. Paul Steklenski is a pilot for the organization. He has delivered rescue dogs and other animals to several animal rescue organizations and kept them safe.
Paul became emotional after flying Emma to her new home because Emma’s situation is vastly different from the usual stories of the animals he helped.
When Paul heard Emma’s story, he realized she was exceptional. Emma would finally know what it is like to be a member of a loving family after being flown to her new home. She will encounter numerous firsts in her lifetime, including sleeping in a comfortable dog bed, playing with squeaky toys, and receiving treats and hugs from people.
Paul could not help but become emotional as he contemplated Emma’s future after delivering her to her new home. He understood that he was doing something special for his passenger, and Emma deserved a fresh start. Paul only spent a short amount of time with Emma, but he developed a strong bond with the senior dog and hoped for the best for her future.
Emma was rescued from the animal shelter by an organization that describes her as a sweet and gentle dog. Despite her terrible history, Emma still enjoys cuddling and giving kisses to others. The rescuers who met Emma are confident that she will easily find a forever home.
