One of a parent’s duties is to teach their children to behave. Sometimes, they need to discipline and scold their kids when they do something terrible. When done correctly, this parenting technique is an effective way for the child to learn right from wrong.
But a mother from Xuzhou City in China struggled to scold her little girl because of their overprotective Golden Retriever. Ms. Sun, the 32-year-old mother, told MailOnline that she recently bought a small tub of facial cream for her daughter. She left it in their living room and went to the kitchen to prepare their lunch.
When Ms. Sun returned, she found out that her daughter tore up the packaging. The 2-year-old child named You You opened up the tub and played with the moisturizer. Ms. Sun got mad when she found out that almost half of it was already gone.
Ms. Sun shouted at You You, and the poor baby started crying. After hearing this, the loyal 5-year-old dog named Harry came over to prevent the mom from scolding the little girl. Ms. Sun filmed Harry’s adorable reaction and shared it on Duoyin.
The footage showed the furry guardian beside the crying kid while the mother told her off. Ms. Sun then focused the camera on the toy that You You used to scoop the cream. Harry stood between the two and bared his teeth as if to tell the mother to stop.
When Ms. Sun told Harry to move away and stop protecting her daughter, the dog became more defensive. Harry tried to comfort the kid by wrapping his arms around her and resting his head on her shoulders. This reaction amused Ms. Sun, and she eventually calmed down and stopped the scolding.
Ms. Sun admitted that her anger melted away when she saw the protective canine protecting her little daughter. The mother said that she was still upset, but she also found it funny. Ms. Sun added that this was not the first time that Harry defended her daughter.
Ms. Sun said that You You grew up in Harry’s company and that the pair developed a deep bond. She added that it was heart-warming and that canines would find a way to express their affection if you treat them properly.
