Dog aficionados love labradors. These dogs belong to our list of favorite canine breeds, alongside golden retrievers and German shepherds. There are many reasons why that is.
Labradors are known to be loyal. They will protect your family and your property every chance they get. They will not disappoint in terms of proving their devotion to their human masters.
Labradors are gentle doggos too. That’s why they suit households with children. These dogs will become besties with your kids.
Labradors can also become your kids’ hero. That’s what happens in our featured video. Watch the story below.
The dog in our video is named Bear, a black labrador. Bear is the trusty canine companion of the Drauch family. He also happens to be the hero of the Drauch family’s youngest member, 14-month-old Stanley.
If it were not for Bear, Stanley would no longer be with us now. The toddler was fortunate enough to have been rescued by Bear from a potentially fatal incident. The incident happened in the Drauch family’s backyard, where there’s a swimming pool.
Patricia Drauch shares that she went to the garage to get some gardening tools. Stanley was walking by her side. When she took a second look, her son was no longer anywhere close.
She looked for Stanley but could not find him. After a long frantic search, he found Stanley in the pool. The boy looked like he was floating unconscious in the water.
Patricia ran to her son. That’s when she saw Bear in the water, under Stanley. The dog was balancing the boy on his back, careful not to move and cause Stanley to fall into the water.
Patricia tried to reach 911. But her calls could not reach the emergency hotline. She drove Stanley to the hospital herself.
Stanley survived the ordeal. The Drauch family knows who to thank.
