Kind Lowe’s Employee’s Friendship With Special Needs Dog Sparks Online Approval

Kind Lowe’s Employee’s Friendship With Special Needs Dog Sparks Online Approval

Ben Bowling February 12, 2022

Baxter lived as a stray dog in Armenia and was involved in a car accident. He was terribly hurt, and no one tried to help him. He lived for a few agonizing days waiting for the end to come. But somehow, his plight came to the attention of a local rescue organization called Pawsitive Rescue Armenia.

According to the studies made by the rescue group, special needs dogs like Baxter rarely get adopted in Armenia. Only about one percent of them find a happy ending. The rest are subjected to euthanasia. That is why the group tends to send these dogs to the US, where they have a better chance of finding a better life.

Wheelchair

Baxter was fortunate to be included in a group of special needs dogs that were flown to the USA. When he arrived, the small dog moved in with a seasoned volunteer named Amy Jo Martin who lives in North Carolina. The kind lady has rescued and adopted several dogs that require added attention and care.

During the time between Baxter’s rescue and moving in with his new mom, his injuries have healed, but they did not set properly. He could move around in confined spaces. But when he is outside, he needed the use of a wheelchair. This is when he met a new friend that captured the hearts of numerous people online.

Genuine concern

Baxter did fine with his wheelchair, but when he tries to sit back, he would tip over. They had to put him upright every time that happened. To correct the problem, Amy Jo took the small pup and the wheelchair to a Lowe’s retail store in Wilkesboro.

While they were actually there, they met one of their employees, a kind man named Andy. They told him all about their predicament, and he showed genuine concern. They talked about design, and Andy proposed adding a third wheel and showed him where to put it. After buying the materials needed, Amy Jo went home and finished their special project

Amazingly, the new design worked. Amy Jo went back to the store with Baxter and showed Andy their successful design. He was so happy and even went down to the floor to hug the dog. He even offered to babysit the pooch whenever they need one.

Amy Jo was touched by the man’s concern and love for Baxter, and she took photos of them together. She posted them online, and people started sharing the photos. A lot of people have expressed their admiration for the man’s compassion and kindness.
