Roughly two months ago, Ryan Fant was enjoying a nice walk in a park in Little Rock, Arkansas, when he noticed an adorable golden retriever wandering around. She had no collar on and was looking a little lost. So after approaching the pup and playing with her to gain her trust, Ryan decided to take her home with him.
He thought that it was unlikely that someone would dump a loving dog like her on the streets. That was why the next day, he immediately took her to a vet to check for a microchip. They found out that she had no chip installed, though, but Ryan was still adamant about finding her family.
He searched for them for about a month but to no avail. Realizing that the pup had nowhere else to go, Ryan and his family decided to name her Lily Mae and officially adopt her. Everything was going smoothly for the next few weeks of having the golden retriever, but the Fants eventually noticed how Lily Mae’s stomach kept growing and growing.
A visit to the local vet confirmed that the pup was indeed pregnant and would soon give birth. Knowing that Lily Mae needed an experienced hand to help her with her pregnancy, Ryan got in touch with his sister-in-law, Caitie Evers. Caitie had been fostering dog moms for the past several years, making her the perfect candidate.
Lily Mae was then brought to the Evers, where she would stay until her pups were ready for adoption. When she arrived, Caitie was surprised that the canine was just as energetic as any other non-pregnant dogs. So the foster fur mom took this opportunity to set up a maternity photoshoot for the pup.
Lily Mae was so vibrant and behaved on the day of her shoot that the session only took a total of 30 minutes! Check out her adorable maternity pictures here.
