When Drew and Taylor Woodard went on a long-year trip to Nepal, they never imagined that they would return to the US with a furry companion in tow.
Drew and Taylor meet Buda
Taylor Woodard and her husband Drew had a grand time exploring the beauty of Nepal. They’ve seen lots of beautiful places and met amazing people. But they also loved their interactions with the animals. Taylor, in particular, often asked Harry, their translator, to stop for a while so she can pet the dogs, cats, and other animals they met on the way.
Harry saw how much the couple loves being around animals, so he introduced them to one very special pup. Harry led Taylor and Drew to a local village and asked them to wait while he fetched his surprise. When Harry emerged, he held an adorable white puppy in his arms that’s probably just three weeks old.
The puppy was still so young then his eyes were just newly opened. According to Harry, the pup’s mom was too ill to take care of her pups, so human intervention was their best chance in helping the pup grow and thrive. Taylor and Drew did not hesitate and adopted the puppy right away. They named him Buda, the Nepalese word for “old man.”
Drew and Taylor took care of Buda as if he was their own child. They bathed him, gave him medical care, and bottle-fed him. As devoted paw-rents, the couple showed Buda that he is so much loved.
To more adventures
Drew and Taylor took Buda everywhere, and their adventures became even more unforgettable. They’ve trekked mountains, visited tourists attractions, and enjoyed sightseeing in the city. Wherever the couple was, Buda was sure to be with them.
One year flew by so fast because Drew and Taylor had so much fun traveling with their furbaby. By then, they had to carefully consider the steps they need to take to bring Buda with them to the US. They worried about getting separated from Buda due to quarantine restrictions. So, they took care of all the paperwork and went through all the medical tests to make sure Buda lands in the US without any issues.
Drew, Taylor, and Buda are now in the country, and they continue to go on adventures. Buda is now happily living a new chapter in his life, one that would surely be filled with lots of fun and love.
