Just a few weeks ago, Melanie Talbot was able to visit a Seal Sanctuary with her pup, Stanley. The two-year-old dachshund seemed to enjoy his visit to the sanctuary very much. He even made a friend!
Stanley immediately became friends with one of the seal pups in the sanctuary. Stanley easily caught the attention of Aayla, the seal pup. Stanley had his hoodie to his head, covering his ears, which made him look similar to the seal.
As soon Aayal saw Stanley, she swam straight to him and pressed her nose on the glass in front of Stanley. They even posed for a few shots which Melanie, Stanley’s mom, gladly took. Melanie was shocked and delighted at the sudden friendship between the two animals.
Every time Melanie looks at the photos of Stanley and Aayla, she still couldn’t believe how they posed so adorably together. It made her heart warm seeing two different species form a bond so easily. In the picture, Stanley and Aayla had their noses seem like they were touching each other.
Melanie says that Stanley has a lot of dog friends, but she would have never imagined Stanley to make friends with a different animal. It was his first time with Aayla! And Aayla must also be happy with having Stanley as her new friend.
Aayla is one of the many seal pups that the Seal Sanctuary cares for. She was rescued back in 2017 from Bacton in Norfolk. At the time of her rescue, Aayla was found to be malnourished and injured on her flipper. Her injury was so bad that they had to remove some of her bones.
Now though, Aayla is in good health and is enjoying her stay at the sanctuary. She is an active little seal pup and loves playing with her fellow seals. Aayla is very playful, but she is also a smart girl who loves making new friends.
